Travel Diary #19 : Exploring Laos, from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng
Goodbye Luang Namtha...8 hours of sleeping bus later, we arrived in the second biggest city of Laos : Luang Prabang. We stayed there for a few days, in a hostel hidden in the jungle with a view on the Mekong River.

I couldn't sound more cliché, but a Yoga session facing the Mekong River at sunrise is the best way to start a day ...
We rented bicycles to explore the countryside of Luang Prabang and I felt like I was back to my childhood days. Spending a day wasting time without feeling guilty reminded me the importance of letting go, having no plans, no time, no pressure, but to just "take the time to waste a moment". We ended up riding between palm trees at sunset, the perfect Venice Beach-ish aesthetic, remmenassent of two films I love; Mid 90s and Mommy.
These are the days we live for.
It took us 4 hours to reach Kasi from Luang Prabang and we stayed 3 days in this small village. We had reached the homestay by foot in the middle of the night and we found people on our way celebrating the Chinese New Year. We crashed the party - and karaoke'd Zina there with Vietnamese, Laotians and Chinese, checking off two more challenges from The List !
And finally, we headed south toward Vang Vieng for our lasts days in Laos...
That was our last days in Laos ! Our group split for a month before gathering again in our headquarters, Bali, and settling down there for a while.
