Travel diary #39 : Now what?
Happy new year !
I wish you to do more of what you love, that’s the best advice I received to start the year (poke Adria). For me, it will be more photography 📸
2021 was a very long year and I'm glad I ended it on a positive note with this trip. I feel really grateful that I was able to take a break from all the covid issues for a while and enjoy winter in a warm country. In 3 months, backpacking has already brought me so much ! Breathing different air, having new conversations, trying new things, facing new issues... it's amazing how travel can make you see life from a different perspective.
I spent a month working in a hostel in Morocco where I lived with a writers, fireman/prison guard, data analyst, illustrator, developer, cook, unemployed people...and it was such an enriching experience.
The year ended with a chill beach day :
Finally, I couldn't have asked for a better way to end 2021: a party at an incredible house lost in the mountains. We rented this idyllic place in a valley surrounded by palm trees and had a truly special time ✨
I finally left Taghazout and my Kekai family to spend the last week in Imsouane, a small isolated fishing village one hour up north. With its mythical surf spots, Imsouane is a paradise for beginners and intermediate surfers. Here, there is no bank, no supermarket, only small houses, fish restaurants and … the ocean! There is nothing else to do but surf, the perfect place for me to think and organize the rest of my trip.
So…Now what? What’s next? To be honest, I have no idea! The covid situation is getting complicated here in Morocco and the country has decided to close its borders for another month. I will continue to explore the country over the next few weeks and see where it takes me. “Go with the flow” as they say 🌊
Some of my friends from Taghazout were here for a few days. The opportunity to share a couscous, to surf and skate at sunset!
As usual, nice meetings with locals on the way…
See you in the next one ! 🌞
I have started this blog when I first travelled solo in South East Asia more than 2 years ago. The passion hasn’t faded and I’m still really excited to share photos and stories with you here. If you like the content I post every week and want to support the blog, you can check my buy me a coffee page here ☕️, or simply leave a comment :)
